Catch of the Day was designed as a contemporary souvenir concept inspired by Goa's deep connection to fishing, coastal life, and local cuisine.
The objective was to create an engaging product that combines education, storytelling, and play while giving visitors a meaningful connection to Goan culture.
Problem
Most souvenirs are decorative objects with little cultural context or interaction.
The challenge was to create a product that felt:
• Authentic to Goa
• Educational and engaging
• Suitable for all age groups
• Memorable beyond the typical souvenir experience
Approach
The concept was built around Goa's fishing heritage and local marine life.
The design combined:
• Hand-sketched illustrations of local fish species
• Soft stuffed fish collectibles
• Educational information cards
• Traditional Goan culinary references
The goal was to create a souvenir that was both informative and fun.
Solution
Developed a souvenir kit featuring:
• A custom-designed fish tote bag
• Realistically illustrated fish graphics
• Soft stuffed fish inspired by local species
• Information leaflets with Konkani and English fish names
• Traditional Goan fish fry recipes
